Thanksgiving.
Recently while traveling to Thailand I was reminded of this while learning more about Buddhism and the philosophy behind this religion. Life’s struggles and the adversities that are put before us remind us that there are better times ahead. These tools allow the mind to recognize and potentially quell feelings of anger and overcome emotional challenges we face in life. Life is like an undulating waveform, sometimes it’s heading up and sometimes it’s heading down. Recognizing that life’s path is forever changing and accepting the road ahead is necessary in life’s journey and in remaining content. Understanding that as humans we sometimes experience feelings of loss or emptiness which are normal. That’s all we need to do is to acknowledge these feelings when they occur and not try to “fix” them, because they are normal. Trying to repair something that isn’t broken doesn’t make much sense. The most important path is to recognize it and move on with life.
Knowing the Buddhist teachings allow us to overcome.
I touched on understanding life and transcending our fears and interpretation of our "unabridged" self. Notice that we are the heritage of our family and that we carry on the spirit of our ancestors and their DNA.
Our parents before us will rest peacefully in their death and we will manage our sorrow and forge ahead because that is what we are made to do. Having self awareness and gratitude will start the journey forward.
