HAPPY BIRTHDAY DR. LUCY HOBBS-TAYLOR

Her facial expression draws your eyes into hers. Strong in gaze, an amiable face and an expression like the jovial smile of a grandmother who reminds me of Mrs. Doubtfire.   She was no average woman in the late 19th century, during suffrage. Lucy Beaman Hobbs-Taylor was determined and she became the first woman to receive a Dental Degree. Her struggle was long having to endure the scrutiny of men who felt that this was not a profession for women. She proved them wrong.
